Indian records Calcutta 1823

I have found lots of records for Calcutta but nothing for the period I believe I am looking for. I have tried Fibris and the oz (sorry can't remember the rest of the name ) site

Has any one else got any ideas ?

Think I may have a lead on the birth I am looking for - the source is given as 'East India Register'. Am I right in thinking I could search this at the British library ? Or if not how/ where ?
