King Edward V11 Sanatorium Sussex

 Could someone tell me if this Sanatorium is still in use?
Where would records be kept?
I am trying do discover when my uncle died.His name was
Edward Cameron Hughes and i understand he was a patient there as he suffered from TB
I think he may have at one time lived at Fayegate nr.Horsham

Hello Yozzer,

The indications are that this ceased to take patients in April 2003. The site was aqcuired by property developers and plans were afoot to demolish some of it and build a new development. This can be found by entering Edward 7th Sanatorium, Midhurst, in the search engine.

It was in Midhurst, West Sussex and you should enquire at the West Sussex Record Office about any records they might hold. Bear in mind that health records are usually subject to a long period of closure, usually 100 years and you may not be able to access these.
