"Lazarette Andromache" Completed with Tks
« on: Thursday 16 June 11 10:55 BST (UK) »
Looking for information on a R.N. ship the "Lagarette Andromache" during the 19th century.
Sometime during the 3rd Qtr of the 19th, this ship along with others including HMS Dreadnought (Trafalgar) where moored probably as hulks in the Haven, Pembrokeshire.
The Lagarette Andromache may be the "Andromache" used on the U.K. ~ Australia route.
Whilst I a mass of information on Dreadnought it is the Lagarette Andromache for which I seek information.

HMS Andromache, launched at Pembroke, 1832, by 1854 was a Powder Hulk, was at Pembroke in 1860?

The first word is most likely lazarette, not part of the name of the ship.

Basically HMS Andromache was converted into a storage hulk.  :)
Name interests: Boulton, Murrell, Lock, Croxton, Skinner, Blewett, Tonkin, Trathen.

Thankyou both for your assistance in this matter. With my previous sailors research and your findings everything falls into place.
