Royal Engineers 19th Century whereabouts
« on: Saturday 18 June 11 16:38 BST (UK) »

Army records of Henry Murch, carpenter, who served with the Royal Engineers 1836-1858 inform me that he served abroad for 16.5 years of this time.

It states he served in
Canada - 2y5m
Gibraltar - 5y7m
Corfu - 6y6m

Is there any record of which periods these regimental postings would have occurred or would the RE have representation in all these places and he just moved between them?

p.s. should I be posting this on another board?

Booth - Hulme, Manchester & Wallsend
Craggs - Bishop Auckland, Darlington & Byker
Hutchins & Lewins- Sunderland
Miller, Allan & Brunton - Walker & Byker
Bagnall - Watermen of the Ouseburn
