Hi:
I don't know how to find where my Gr.Granparents are buried. Can you help me?

Matthew Arnold ~1826-1903

Jane Arnold (nee) Wellavise ~1833-1900

Both died in Swansea, Glamorgan.

The Arnold families lived for the most part in the South/East part of the town, Sandfields, Havod, Landore.  Matthew (as a widower) lived in the Sandfields area for the latter part of his life with his son and family Mark Arnold.  Although this information doesn't guarantee anything it is somewhere to start (was/is there a local cemetery?).
Mark's brother Frank Arnold and Frank's wife Mary are buried in Danygraig Cemetery.  Maybe Matthew and Jane are also there.
How does one go about finding a plot if all you have to go on is names, dates, and residence around time of death?

Hello  :)

From freebmd, Jane Arnold was age 67 when she died in the last quarter of 1900. Matthew Arnold was age 74 when he died in 3rd quarter of 1903.

You may be able to get obituary notices in local newspapers which are held on microfilm at the central library and record office in Swansea.

Kind Regards
Morgan

Thanks Morgan.  I live in Canada so checking the obits will have to wait until I make a trip to UK.  I know they won't be online.
Regards
Phil

the local library will often if you email them look up the newspapers for you and copy obits and email them to you ... you obviously have to give them an idea of the date you are looking for as there are all on microfilm so need to have a good idea when they are looking for !
