National Archives Wellington Look up COMPLETED THANKS

Can anyone look up a 1950s Napier Divorce Register for me please?. The details are publicly available (no restrictions) as at this stage I do not need the actual  file.

As  the divorce was likely to be "controversial" I'd prefer to give the names and details I have in a PM if that's OK.

Hi Dale,

Divorce records have a 60 year restriction on them,you may not be able to access the file.
I managed to access a 1950 divorce this year and it was explained to me that they wait until the following January to release all divorces that had reached the 60 yrs the previous year,so all the 1951 files will be come available next January.
Angelbaby69 goes to Wellington Archives,maybe you could PM her the details,there is a thread on the board

The Registers are publicly available immediately to peruse. The actual file may require a note to the Court seeking permission -  depending on your reasons this may or may not be granted.

The file may contain photos, certs etc but I am only seeking info as to who was the Petitioner and Respondent, the date of the application, length of separation etc and that should be on the Register.
