hi again poli

i think family tree's useful as they are, are the least of our problems.

transcriptions errors, phonetic communication and the acceptance of daft data such as silly names, by FindMyPast makes the census just as dodgy.

no relation to your research but i am looking for copperthwaite and have come up against cowperwaite as well as copperwheat and variations!

good luck with your search.

If it helps Elizabeth Copperwheat and Edward William Dolling were my Great great grandparents.  I do have a photo of Elizabeth somewhere that was taken at some point before my Great grandfather, Alfred William Dolling was born.

I may be able to help you in the search for Alfred Copperwheat, however.  He is indeed a Copperwheat turned Copperwaite and in the 1880 he applied for a copy of my Great grandfathers birth certificate (presumably for work or education given that it was 10 years after he was born) fortunately, when applying he gave his address as 67 Great Russell Street, Northampton.

I assume that, at the time my Great grandfather was staying with him, which would explain how he ended up in Northampton, having been born in Lidlington, Bedfordshire.

My apologies, I don't appear to be able to attach images to my post

Hi All.

Fortheadingley welcome to Rootschat.  :)

You can post images by making a new topic on the Bedfordshire
board and title it maybe "Elizabeth Copperwaite".

We are not able to attach photographs on any County look up
request
boards.

Merry Christmas All  :)
