Looking for descendents of Alexander Porteous b1879 Dumfrieshire, Scotland.He married Kathleen Thirlwell from Hexham,England,b 1885.Settled in Strathmore, Alberta,Canada.1905c.My husband John Porteous is descended from Alexander`s brother John Porteous.I have an extensive family tree to share. Hi Linda,
                Many thanks for taking the time to search out this information.It is great to see all the details on the census form, and the marriage record. Hoping to hear from any family still living in Strathmore.I really appreciate it.
My husband has only one remaining uncle  who is quite elderly,he is Alexander`s nephew.It would be nice if any one could let me know a little  more about the Strathmore family.
