Blatant Plug
« on: Tuesday 05 July 11 23:24 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

For those who do not know me, I'm Trystan, the co-founder of RootsChat with my wife Sarah. Through the wonderful support of our RootsChatters and our volunteer moderators it's been brilliant to see things grow here.

In the mean time, however I didn't realise that something else was growing. Unknown to me, a tumour was growing on my pituitary gland which was also playing havoc with almost every part of me. The pituitary is right at the base of the brain in the middle of the head. Anyhow, I was diagnosed, and just over twelve months ago I had successful surgery which means that now I'm "in remission". That's pretty much a 'cure'. The Christie look after my care - and they are absolutely great.

Anyhow. I'm looking for a spot of sponsorship, please, to help them.

I'm going to try my very best to cycle over 60 miles from Manchester to Blackpool for The Christie on Sunday 10th July just to thank them.

If you'd like to support me, and The Christie, I would be so very grateful, then please visit:

Thanks,

Trystan

UPDATED: Blimey, I got to Blackpool from Manchester on a push bike! Thank you ever so much to everybody for your support and your donations. You can still donate if you'd like to, to support The Christie - they give hope to people like you and I, and to our families.

Hi Trystan

I'm probably one of the few who didn't know you'd been ill.  I'm glad you are now in remission (cured) and fit enough to do a long bike ride.  I hope the weather is kind to you.

Lizzie

I'm a bit worried about you riding all that way Trystan.  :-\
You be careful and don't overdo it.
Take care.  :)
