Marriage lookups. Carpenter/Ayres & Ayres/Collins

Hi all,

hoping someone can confirm the marriage between SAMUEL AYRES and ELIZABETH COLLINS
approx 1729 at St. Johns college, Oxford.

Also the marriage of WILLIAM CARPENTER and ELIZABETH AYRES approx 1763 in the Witney area.

William Carpenter married Elizabeth Aris 24th April 1764 in Cogges Church. Cogges is part of Witney. Let me know if I can help you further.

Thanks for quick reply Toby. You may be able to help further if the marriage docs. give their ages. I have William born 1741 and Elizabeth born 1730. I just want to be sure I have got the right two people as there is quite a big age gap.

No other info

I now believe this to be the marriage of ELIZABETH ARIS/AYRIS born 1740 in Cogges.

Next question is, does anyone have a record of a marriage of ELIZABETH AYRES born 1730 in South Leigh.

Thanks Carolyn, I think that's the marriage I was looking for for Samuel.
Do you happen to know if St. Johns College was a normal venue for weddings or was it just for students.

And thanks Kimbrey, pretty sure that is the marriage for Elizabeth.
