Queen Charlotte's Hospital Marylebone
« on: Friday 08 July 11 21:22 BST (UK) »
I am looking for photographs or postcards of Queen Charlotte's Hospital, Marylebone, as my great-grandfather was born there in 1887. I would love to see any photographs, drawings or postcards of the exterior and interior of the hospital to add to my research so if anyone can send me a link to any online photographs I would be very grateful

Matt :)

Thanks for the response guys, there are some excellent images there  :D

I have found Queen Charlotte's on the 1881 Census at 191, Marylebone Road, Marylebone, but I can't see it in the 1891. My great-grandfather was born in 1887 and his mother was attended to by Nurse Wilkie (well it looks like Wilkie on the Admission Register). I am writing a narrative about his life and I would love to be able to write something about Nurse Wilkie - where she was from or something - even to add a bit of information about her age, her job title etc.

There is a Nurse Wilde on the 1881 Census for Queen Charlotte's Hospital who I belive could be Nurse Wilkie but I would like to be sure. If someone could help me find the reference to Queen Charlotte's on the 1891 I would be very grateful

Hi Matt

If you check hospital record databases( wellcome library) on National archives and put in Marylebone for the hospital in the search it shows you admin and staff records dates and where the records are kept, hopefully they may cover the time period you are looking for
