Thanks for your help Shaun, Franz did leave a will, leaving everything to his wife Winifred (my Aunt)
Its really weird, my aunt never spoke of his death to her two sons, his granson has tried in vain to find the whereabouts of his grave. I have tried " Find a Grave." but we always come to a dead end.(excuse the pun)

Hi most people would have been buried iether in West street Durban or Stellawood. cemeteries. Not sure when the West street one closed but all my family are buried at Stellawood. Not sure how you can look up the grave numbers.I think there is a office at Stellawood where one can look up the info.Unfortunately I now live in OZ otherwise I would go look for you.

Cheers Derek

Hi Maddy have a look at the info at the top of the post relating to ordering certificates etc through the eggsa in South Africa. They may also be able to help you find his grave.

Good luck Derek

Hi Derek
Have done so much searching this past week I have nearly blown the computer, have come to a dead end on all researches. Oh well at least I tried. The only other info on his death could of been announced in one of the London newspapers as he was a bit of an important person, but unfortunately the newspapers are not on line and I now live in Spain, do you think if I wrote to Collingdale Newspaper Library they would do a search?
Perhaps someone might give me some advice. Thanks so much for your input.
Maddy.
