Alexander Roy
« on: Tuesday 12 July 11 16:48 BST (UK) »
The above appears in family tree, but does the surname Roy become Ross or are they totally different?

Also advice on searching for births, pre 1855 it is possible to put in possible surnames of each parent, is there a way of doing this in Births 1855 onwards?

Many thanks for your help.

Roy and Ross are different surnames. If you are looking for information about folk from Moray a good free site is the Libindx one which allows you to search for details of people from Moray.

Graham.

Graham, thank you so much for your reply, I had come up against a brick wall and instead of walking away and sleeping on it I just kept on banging my head - ouch.

Have found the Libindex and it is great, very many thanks again.
