The Cavey family, Maidenhead
« on: Friday 15 July 11 17:12 BST (UK) »
Hi

I'm looking for a distant relative called Winifred Muriel Cavey. She was born in 1903 and I can't find her on the 1911 census. She married Alf Leaver in 1929 and they had one son.

Her father I believe is William Levi Cavey - also just known as Levi! According to their marriage certificate he had already died but I recently found someone who had the same William Cavey living in Perth, Australia.

Can anyone help me fill in the gaps?

Using the index  http://www.1911census.co.uk/search/tnaform.aspx

I just put in Cavey  and residential place as Tenterden.  Levi is transcribed as Sevi and there is also Hilda and Maud.

Thanks for that. I've found it!
Got this to work on!!!!

William Levi was a master builder and ostler. He came to Australia alone, arriving at Fremantle aboard the "SS ORONSAY" on the 28th October 1930. Maude(Daughter?) sent him to Perth, Australia, as he was destitute. "Owned 3 inns in England but drank away the money."
Ancestors of W.L. Cavey were French Jews??
He was Batman to Lord Kitchener, lived a number of years in India with him??" Not proven or dis-proven as yet.
William Levi (Levi) was Gardener or Gamekeeper to Sir Roger Tichborn???
