John BLACK m Giles DUFF, Little Dunkeld

Hello, not sure where to try next.

I found marriage/banns for above married Little Dunkeld 1769 and mentions they lived at Trochrie near Little Dunkeld.

I just cannot find anything else about either of them from here. Does anybody have any suggestions where/who I can contact.

Entries I have found for the Marriage have the name of John as Blark.
These are the only 2 Children I can find in Little Dunkeld, Perthshire;
JANNET, Birth 01 January 1780
JOHN, Birth 07 June 1782, Christened 25 July 1782
Both have Parents as John BLACK/Giles DUFF

Interestingly there is a DAVID Black 20 April 1775 to John Black and Marg Duff.

Hi Trish, thank you. Yes odd Johns name shows Blark but assuming transcript issue.

Little Dunkeld had a lot of Black & Duff families and in fact their son John married a Margaret Duff.

I have a fairly comprehensive tree from John & Giles down but struggling with John & Giles ancestors. FYI Giles may even be Geiles/Geilles to confuse matters more.

I also found a record of a 2nd Jannet Black b 1782 and wondered if she was a twin to John as they were born same month/year.
