LIDDINGTON of Brokenborough

I am working my way back in time from William Liddington born c 1813 at Lydney, Gloucestershire, parents William Liddington c 1785 and Elizabeth. Other researchers have latch,ed on to a Pallots Marriage Index record for a marriage at Stapleford, Herts in 1811 between a William L(O)ddington and an Elizabeth Losbey.

 For 1811, Hertfordshire seems a long way from either Gloucestershire or Brokenborough Wiltshire were William 1785 was born.

Would appreciate help in confirming William LOddington or Liddington are one and the same or perhaps to offer an alternative.
