Help find burial site or grave in Essex
« on: Monday 18 July 11 13:01 BST (UK) »

Hi Can anyone help

I am trying to locate two graves but do not know where they might have been buried but it would be in Essex. I have the following information so is there anyone who might direct me in how I might locate their graves.

In Australia the death certificate states the burial site but the English one do not, so I am at a loss to find their graves.

Fanny Mary Middleton died 8 Nov 1937  aged 80 at 88 Wellington Ave Westcliff on Sea. U.D. , death in sub district  Southend on Sea registration Rochford.

Also Katherin Jane Middleton died 10 Sep 1940 aged 85 also at 88 Wellington Ave Westcliff on Sea U.D.  death in sub district Southend on Sea Western,  Registration  District  Southend on Sea

I think they may have been buried together as they were spinsters and sisters.

Hope someone can help

regards
Nattai

May I suggest you try Googling "Southend on Sea Cemeteries" - you could try contacting someone from the Cemetery Department.

Hi

There is a topic guide at the top of both Rootschat Essex main boards to burials in Essex. In the guide all the cemeteries in the unitary authority of Southend-on-sea are listed with their addresses and the date they opened (including Prittlewell Cemetery in Westcliff-on-Sea which opened in 1881). The link to Southend-on-Sea's cemetery office is also given in the guide.
