I have some burial records for Cambusnethan, there are 3 that may be of interest to you.

2 are in lair 879 section E.

MARY BROWN, housewife.
Abode - Mount Vernon.
Age - 21 years.
Status - Married.
Parents - John Frame and Margaret Dunn.
Interred 8th March 1900.

MARY BROWN, child.
Abode - Tollcross.
Age - 11 years.
Parents - William Brown and Mary Frame.
Interred - 1st January 1912.

Lair 670 section B
ROBERT FORSYTH, child.
Abode - Stane Farm.
Age - 1 year and 11 months.
Parents - Thomas Forsyth and Lizzie Hodge.
Interred - 30th April 1910.
Lair owner - Thomas Forsyth, farmer. Stane Farm, Shotts.

Many thanks for the burial info as the first two are indeed my direct line siblings.  Did not know that Mary Frame married a William Brown and had a child.  The age of the child seems odd as Mary died in 1900 whereas the child aged 11 died 1912 which would mean the child was born after Mary died!

Interesting to note that you have McKechnie in Argyll.  I have a Samuel Mckechnie born 1836 in Argyll, Scotland a farmer who died in 1881 at South Hirst Farm, Shotts, Lanarkshire.  He married a Janet Watson and later Sarah McInnes (McInnis).  His parents were James Mckechnie a ships carpetner (died before 1862) and Margaret Johnston (died before 1862).

Hi John,

I would make a guess that poor Mary died in childbirth and the child's age was put down without too much care about the exact age.
My McKechnie/McEachern ancestors came from the Ross of Mull, Kilfinichen and Kilvickeon parish, they lived in the hamlet of Ardtun, near Bunessan. There were Archibalds and Neils by the dozen but never found a James or a Samuel. (And, as a Motherwell man, I wouldn't care to admit that I had a Shotts connection! Ha!)

More info re the Frames at Brow Farm: my grandmother was Christina Frame, daughter of John Frame who died at the farm in 1903. Christina married my grandfather, Alexander Hunter from Newmains, at the farm in 1909. I have a photo of her standing on the doorstep of the farm with two of her sisters circa 1905.

George Frame – Gunner 175345 – Royal Field Artillery   
   
Gunner Frame, son of the late John Frame, Brow Farm, Newmains, resided in Shotts and had enlisted there.   Aged 27, he died on the 31st of December, 1917 in Egypt.   Gunner Frame is interred in Alexandria (Chatby) Military and War Memorial Cemetery, Grave E.183 and commemorated on Morningside War Memorial.

I am compiling a book of the men of Cambusnethan, Newmains and Morningside if you have any information on George, or even a picture.
