Hi chloe
Lockeoo7 cetainly brings up another can of worms or kettle of

fish  links needed between Salvidge and Tutton !!!!
Need a cup of coffee !!!

Later:-

Hm  more complications  only Salvidge i can find is

James bapitised March 19th 1788 to Cornelius and Elizabeth Tutton,
in 1801 they have another son just plain James this time can`t find a death for James salvidge Tutton ,maybe better look under Salvidge !!!!!!

Still trying to sort out Elizabeth ,the paupers. husband can`t
tie it to Cornelius or Samuel need to search the records again!!

pleased to read you again my dear friend :) hope you are doing well and that you have recuperated on your sleep :)
locke007 = chloe :) it"s me :)
eve if I have been quiet, I have been doing research on 2 or 3 branches of my tree which are stuck.
and yes coming across that ACT/BILL really cleared things up by linking this salvidge (salvage) to the TUTTONS.
I have listed that cornelius and elizabeth married 25/05/1784
had:
-samuel tutton 1785
-james salvidge tutton 1788
-james tutton 1801
-thomas tutton 1803
-charlotte tutton 1806

why one kid being called SALVIDGE and having the same name 'james" as his brother... don't have death dates (I'm off to find them) so I don't know if the James SALVIDGE TUTTON died before 1801 (when his brother james was born)...
Off to do more investigation there :)
(it's incredible.. you find 1 thing and it rises another mystery/question!) hihihi!

and I come back disapointed....
only found this and it"s not much of any use... more confusing than anything else ;(

29 Dec 1737    Cornelius Salvage    Baptism    (name of parents) James & Elizabeth Tutton         Cornelius Salvage son of James & Elizabeth Totton baptized December 29
(Parish Records for St. Leonard’s, Shipham, Somerset, England  http://www.thomasgenweb.com/shipham_parish_records01.html)

:'( perhaps our Cornelius (father of samuel tutton) 's father?...... **sigh**

and another one... dates don't correspond though...

All England & Wales, FreeBMD Birth Index, 1837-1915 results for Cornelius Salvidge:
Cornelius Culliford Salvidge Jul-Aug-Sep 1854    Clutton    Somerset

I have tried all the spellings imaginable:

salvage
salvidge
salvadge
selvage
selvadge
selvidge
frustrating...

After big consideration, I will recenter on my ascendants, cornelius is just on the side of my gr gr gr gr grandparents (elizabeth tutton is my gr gr gr gr grandmother:)

I will CLEARLY recap everything and recenter my research on another post.

When I have solid information of my "direct" tree, I will be able to dig up other less direct ancestors like Cornelius (who is a BIG BIG mystery still to me :)
dragon girl you have been of alot of help and I want to thank you AGAIN massively for all the help you have given me, honestly! gosh! I don't know where you find all the information but THANK YOU for your time, generosity, and help.

please help me on this post:

If you do find you are connected to the Tutton family from Shipham - Samuel Tutton b.abt 1810 married 2nd July 1832 to Mary Ann Tripp I would be glad of any info. to go back further. Samuel being ancestor of my husband.
Regards,
Syljun

hi syljun, as TUTTON isn't exactly a paternel line I didn't dig it enough to have that much info, the on TUTTON side (and that CORNELIUS SALVIDGE becoming TUTTON really got my brain boiling and discouraged me a little) the only samuel tutton I have is married to Elizabeth Paine  and born in 1785. sorry! just remember that not only you should be looking for TUTTON but also SUTTON as it was mispelt very very often :) good luck!

Hi Chloe, Just take a deep breath and stand back!!!
I know how you feel, Just downloaded all your posts and going to  go through them again we`re probably missing the obvious[-
Cornelius Salvidge who married 25th May 1784 bride was an Elizabeth Carpenter  both from Bleadon and he was a yeoman
but cannot see the tie up with the Tuttons or Cooks
There was another Salvidge family in Somerset at that time but
again no tie ups unless I check the daughters marriages and try to find who they married Keep Digging!!

Hi Chloe
Thanks for getting in touch!  I couldn't seem to find a way to reply to the message you sent so have resorted to using an existing post of yours.
I'm afraid we don't seem to be linked in our search but I wish you every success - judging by these pages you are making great strides - may it continue!
