There's an Edward Armitage, aged 10, living with parents William & Charlotte in 1841. Mustards Hill, Hoylandswaine.

Thanks for your replies,

Z,
I am sure this is the Benjamin I am looking for. I couldn't find him on FindMyPast, even though I had the box ticked for variants, but they have indexed the name as Benjiman, instead of Benjamin, but it should have picked it up.

As Benjamin remains unmarried, maybe this Edward (bn 1821) is also a family member.

Cheers  :)

Possibly Edward's father, William (b. abt 1805) is the brother of Benjamin?

Hi Sandra,

Anything's possible.

I would love to know who the father was of the William Armitage who married Charlotte.

If I am right with my theory though this Benjamin didn't have a brother called William.

I have his parents as Edward & Mary

I am trying to link various Armitage families in the vague possibility that I might find the father of one of my Armitages.

I live in hope.

There's a baptism at Cawthorne 23 Nov. 1792 for Benjamin, son of Edward.

That's the one, and buried at Cawthorne in 1869.

There are 2 Edwards in Mustard Hill, Hoyland Swaine in 1841 - of similar age.
An Edward dies in 1848 age 18
An Edward is back living with parents John and Amelia in 1861. Is this the Edward that was living with Benjamin in 1851. If yes, what is the relationship between Benjamin Armitage c. 1793 and John Armitage c. 1800?
