SIT News: EDIT function & More ...
« on: Monday 02 May 05 10:36 BST (UK) »
Hi everybody,

The Surname Interests Table, SIT 1.01 has now been released:

1)  An EDIT function has been implemented

2)  A cure for the O'Crikey-Syndrome has been found

3) Surnames can be repeated with different comments
It's up to you to decide how best to include multiple occurences of your surname interests.
I shall be going through the Suggestion-Box to decide what else to implement and how.

4) Chatters' names are links to Profile instead of PM
It's too much work (at the moment) to have a choice, so this is a compromise:
Those who wanted Profile, have it
Those who wanted PM need an extra click to do it.

Enjoy  :D

More (minor) modifications:

- the "Ten Most Wanted" will now be calculated automatically, every hour

- Just so we don't get bogged down in details and all too serious, I've added a (random) "Daily Chuckle"

Just tried to edit the county information on the Surname Interest Table (SIT).

How do you edit the county function of the Surname Interest Table (SIT) (i.e. How do you add a second or third county to your list).

The system allows you to automatically enter one county but doesn't allow a second. If you enter a second county (or third) it overrides the previous entry (entries). Read and attempted to follow directions but I must be missing something. Then again it just may be the old "operator error". Thanks.

Hi yn9man,

the county function was added as the result of long discussion about the "how and why and where"
Topic: Specialist County Surname Interest Table - Your Views??
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,91679.0.html

We deliberately decided to have only one county per line, as the idea was to make it as easy as possible, to search just by county, ratehr than having seperate tables for each one.

If your surnames are in more than one county, then just enter a seperate line for each county  :)
