Hi Ian,

I've just come in on this thread and seem to recall an earlier post that said there was a 'Sir' in your ancestry. I am unaware if it is any use but there is Sir William Borlase Grammar School, West St., Marlow, Bucks.

Regards,

Ed Hall.

In the 1851 census
Paul, Penzance

Ann Borlase mar 50 sailor's wife b Paul
Ann dau 23 b Paul
John 20 sailor b Paul
Elizabeth dau 14 b Paul

Ann is still married , so her husband has to be somewhere ... at sea?

just a thought ....

Maybe the only way to find out what his name was , is to order the marriage certs of the children which would then give us their father's name and occupation.

Hi Ian,

Not having any luck with baptisms. There is a possible marriage listed in Paul in 1821

William BORLASE of Penzance = Ann CHRISTOE
