"Word of Mouth" on Surnames
« on: Friday 29 July 11 09:35 BST (UK) »
The programme on Radio 4, broadcast Tuesday afternoons, was this week about Surnames, their derivations and usages.

Well worth a listen to the repeat on Monday August 1st at 11 in the evening, or on iPlayer until a week after that.
Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND/DUNBABIN etc. everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.
