Lacroix and Sormany, St-Helier and St Saviour, Jersey.

I apologize if a repost is not allowed, I waited 2 days with my older thread, no response, I assumed I put it in the wrong section. If I did anything wrong, please excuse my actions and delete the thread in the lookup request section.

Alright, this is going to be somewhat hard to explain, since I am not from the Channel Island, I'm actually from Canada.

Here's the info I managed to find so far, so any further help would be greatly appreciated:

I am looking for two branches from my geneology line: Édouard(o)/Edoardo-Victor Sormany(i)  and Henriette Jeanne de la Croix d'Erlanges said Henriette Lacroix said Jane Harriette

Now what I managed to find on both persons is referred bellow, I will also make a list of what I need if anybody can help me on those questions.

Edward/Edouard Sormany was born around 1798 at Venice, under the name of Eduardo Sormani, around (this is an educated guess since I cannot find actual dates) 1820s he went to the Jersey Isle with his Father, no name is mentioned for his father (Help needed here), his father had business at the Jersey Isle, what kind of business was is not mentioned.

Anyway, from then on, he met someone named Henriette Jeanne de la Croix d'Erlanges said Henriette Lacroix (She is referred at the consensus of Jersey in 1841 as Jane Harriette). She was the daughter of Claude Lacroix and Marguerite d'Erlanges (Claude was born at Moutinge, France and his wife, Marguerite was born at Coutance, France). Her parents moved to Jersey  because of the French Revolution, nobles were banished or hunted down. She was either born in France shortly before they left or after that, thus around 1800s. After they met Edouard settled at St-Helier, Jersey.

Henriette and Edouard married from what I can see, the 12th of April, 1825 at St-Helier, Jersey. Edouard's profession was making parasols and umbrellas and his wife made, from what I can see from my translation, laces (dentelles).  However, Edouard died shortly afterwards, around 1837. They had three children, Henri Armand Sormany (My ancestor, he moved to Canada in 1853), Amand Sormany and Amedie Sormany.

Henriette lived on, married someone named Manuel Crussel, no specific year, I suspect after Edouard’s death, in the 1840s. They settled at 12 Old St. John’s Road in St- Saviour. She left him at an unknown date and from then on it’s too vague to see where she was. She was mentioned in Henri Armand Sormany’s letter to his niece that Henriette was healthy and at his house in Lameque, New-Brunswick, Canada in 1885. If she died there, it is unknown, since I could not find any records of her death, I’m guessing she returned to Jersey later on and died there at an unknown year.

My only information that I found online was this:

Found in the Census of Jersey in St- Saviour 1841

Rosa Feddes ? 20 yrs old Female Servant Yes (as in born in Jersey)
Emanuelle Crusell (Male) 20 yrs old Independent Means; from Foreign parts.
Jane Harriette do 30 yrs old; from Ireland
Amand Sormany 5 yrs old; from Ireland
(Ireland part doesn't not make sense, I’m pretty sure it’s not true)

Now my questions:

-When was Henriette Born and what days was she baptised? From what I believe she was born around 1803 at St-Helier, Jersey, however I need to confirm that.

-The information from their wedding of the 12th April 1825 at St-Helier, Jersey. (The actual script from the marriage records, I believe the parents' names could've have been mentioned on that record)

-Anything on Edouard Sormany would be appreciated, his parentage, his birthplace (I believe its Venice from my research)

-Anything on Henriette parents and Edouard’s Father, immigration records maybe, if they existed.

-When did Edouard die exactly? ( I have the year, around 1837 at St-Helier)

-When did Henriette die? (I know it’s after 1885, I do not know the location, I believe its in St-Helier or St-Saviour, Jersey, or perhaps another part in the city, her son lived at 10 Seale St, St Helier, Jersey, Channel Islands in 1881, she might have lived with them in her later years)

-Any other information would be greatly appreciated.

I thank you in advance, if you need more details, I can try to see if I have them in my research.

Hi

I've not digested all of your post, but as a starting point have a look at

http://www.theislandwiki.org/index.php/Family_research

Click on Church Registers and then St Helier. If you look at 1790-1800 "L" I think this may help
