The guide to Surrey wills at the top of the Rootschat Surrey boards gives information on where it is possible to view the indexes for wills post the early 1940s when the microfiches of the will indexes found also in main libraries finish. High Holborn or the district probate registries (link to the list given in the guide - there may be one near you). Otherwise you can request a search from the postal searches and copies departmment now in Leeds (address and link given) was in York.
