Shearwood USA to England

 I always believed our great Uncle PERCY ALFRED SHEARWOOD died in the States.

Just recently I found his death in the March Quarter of 1940 in Holderness District Yorkshire at the age of 61(I had birth year as 1878 so that fits) and yesterday I found a second marriage possibily for him to Hannah S.G. SPENCER in the Sept. Quarter of 1937 again in Holderness District.

His first marriage was to Sarah Elizabeth SMITH in Chicago in 1901. I last found this couple in 1930 in Missouri .

What I would like to please ask for help with is finding if and when the first wife died and if possible the date and what ship(manifast)Percy returned to England and if he travelled alone. If I could find these 2 things then I know I have the right man. I plan on sending for his marriage & death certificates which would also help prove these items but thought  I might find some clues first.

Percy shearwood age 55, retired, last resident USA going to Park Cottage Spreatley nr. Hull, Yorkshire; country intended for perm. res. England

No other Shearwood.

Percy's probate record...

died 23 feb 1940 of Chrystaholme Great Cowden YOrks; probate granted to Hannah Sarah Constance Barnfather (wife of Tom Barnfather) -  there is a marriage Q2 1940 of a Hannah S C Shearwood to a Tom D Barnfather. Hannah died 1977 b ~ 1897

I found the first wife,Sarah's death certificate in 1931 in Missouri so this subject is now completed.
