Hi

I was hoping that someone could help me.
I have located my g.g.g. Grandfather Edward Hubbard living in Caythorpe Lincolnshire with his widowed mother Elizabeth Hubbard and brother Thomas Hubbard.
However I can't find the exact address is this possible or does it depend on what the enumerator recorded?

Sue

Frieston is a hamlet at the south end of Caythorpe http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=493885&Y=347585&A=Y&Z=120

Freiston is a village near Boston.

If it was the house next to the vicarage, or two doors from the pub, or last house in the village, then you would have a chance of locating it - but it isn't :(

For an older map, go to http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=493885&Y=347585&A=Y&Z=120 and select (on right) 1189 1:2500 map.

Hi Geoff E,

Would a Kellys or Palmers Directory give the information? (Just a thought). Not certain what years they start from.

Kathy

Fraid not Kathy :(

In those days you needed to have a business or own a house to get in a directory - a mere "widder woman" wouldn't get in.  In any case, there was only one lane through the hamlet and I don't think they would have had numbers in those days.  :-\
