« on: Thursday 06 November 08 01:40 GMT (UK) »
Looking for siblings of my G Grandmother, Ann Gillespie, parents were John Gillespie and Sarah Henry.

Have found Helen Gillespie who m Samual Scullion
John Gillespie who m Bridget Kelly
Ann Gillespie who m William Forsythe in 1868 in Clough, Dunaghy, Co.Antrim.
Hugh Gillespie who m Ellen McKillop about 1878

Sister to Sarah Henry, Hannah m John Black in Londonderry in 1846 so their parents were Samuel Henry & Margaret McCook.

If anyone can assist with the Gillespie family it would be a great help.  Annie

Any Gillespie Descendants out there-
Gillespie, Henry
Stevenson, White
Hamilton, Gilmour
Forsythe, McVicker

I am related to the Gillespie family with the Gilmour/Gilmore line. I don't know the connection though...I only know I have several DNA matches to this family. They all seem to have Andy & daughter Bridget in their trees.

My Gilmore family is my huge brick wall. As you have Gilmour listed in your surnames I am hoping you can give me more information on how they are related.

Thank you,
Donna

I tried first thinking if  John Gillespie the father was alive  1858-1864, there is a good chance that one of these Griffith Valuation Co Antrim civil parish records might trace him to a place. I have even included that part of Belfast in Co Antrim ie Shankill http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation then one could try the same parishes some 30 years earlier, starting with http://www.irishgenealogyhub.com/antrim/tithe-applotments/ahoghill-parish.php#.VmHSvkvBEYU  Call these TAB results 1823-1838
Ahoghill   TAB Glaspy, Samuel Townland: Limnahary Year: 1825
Ballylinny no  Gillespie
Ballywillin no Gillespie
Carnmoney no Gillespie
Drummaul no Gillespie
Finvoy  TAB Gillespie, Geo. Townland : Vow Upper Year: 1834

Finvoy TAB Gillespie, James Townland : Vow Upper Year: 1834
Glenwhirry not recorded
Nilteen, Grange Of under Donegore No Gillespie
Shankill TAB Gillespie, David Townland : Cullentree Year: 1826
Well that’s a disappointing result, one could go though the rest of the civil parishes in the TABs but the purpose is to find a location that can be attached to some church records.
If he was stiill alive in 1858-1864, then at least you still have a chance of getting that location. My TAB results also means that John could be living with a relative eg father and not listed   Donna tou could follow my route for Gilmore records if you both havent already done so.
Good luck

Ann Gillespie who m William Forsythe in 1868 in Clough, Dunaghy, Co.Antrim.

Dunaghy is east of Ballymoney in the Kilraughts district and Clough is roughly between Ballymoney and Ballymena.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I think I need to be in Donegal as that is where my DNA Gillespie's were from. I saw the surname Gilmore & hoped to find a My Gilmore family immigrated before 1830.

Thanks,
Donna
