Not a stupid question Cass :)

Biographical Index of South Australians  1836 -1885.  Major biographical work containing approximately 100,000 entries of South Australians who were born or arrived in the colony during this period.  The information was gleaned from research by the South Australian Genealogy and Heraldry Society in archives, public records, private paapers, and letters of administrations as well as contributions from individuals. There are errors and omissions but an excellent resource.

MEANY Patrick born c1835 KIK IRL
Arrived 1857 OMEGA
0ccupation Labourer. Religion Roman Catholic.

I wonder if this is the same man :-\  Need to check the marriage reg.

MEANY Patrick
Lived Walkerville   Religion Roman Catholic
Married 12 April 1875 Nth Adelaide SA Annie nee HEHIR

Cheers

Hi All

Thanks for looking for me.
This is in relation to Patrick McGree that was convicted of murder in 1882.
On his prison record it states that he arrived in 1856 on the Omega. Can't find any shipping records for 1856 for the Omega and the closest i could find was Patrick Meany on the 1857 passengers list.
So wondered if there was anything on the BISA or did he just disappear after arriving.
Sorry Cando meant to say i have looked on Trove but there seems to be a couple.

Cheers Sue
