Depends on whether any other of your antecedents had Spanish blood.

Assuming none, you have 8 g-grandparents and he was half Spanish so that makes one-sixteenth, or is it one-thirtysecond part?

But if you have European or Irish ancestry there might  be Spanish in there too.

Yes, 1/16th. I'd hate to work out my Spanish blood; the Pine family originated in Spain, via France to England c.1154!

I am Australian, from all the lands I come (my ancestors, at least!)

Pine/Pyne, Dowdeswell, Kempster, Sando/Sandoe/Sandow, Nancarrow, Hounslow, Youatt, Richardson, Jarmyn, Oxlade, Coad, Kelsey, Crampton, Lindner, Pittaway, and too many others to name.
Devon, Dorset, Gloucs, Cornwall, Warwickshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire, Wilts, Germany, Sweden, and of course London, to name a few.

Not that I've made a direct link, but there seems to be a common ancestry to the Pine/Pyne name.

See Stephen Oppenheimer's book "The origins of the British" If his conjectures are correct, then we are all Spanish anyway, our ancestors having arrived after the last Ice Age from a refuge in North Spain, subsequent colonizations by the Norse etc. only re-inforcing the Iberian blood, before any injections from the Spanish Armada etc.
