I do not know who is mother was.  They also had links with Griffin and Spalding, so I have been told.  They lived around the St Anns area. Hope you can help

Hi Sarah

Welcome to Rootschat

There are a few Percy Shepherds born in the Nottingham area.
Have you got any idea of a year or age of these people so I
or others can look for you and find the correct people.
Years either near guesses  or real would be good

Thanks

Hi Sandymc47
I have a copy of Percy Thomas Shepherd and Lizzie Crumley wedding certificate in 1922, there is states Percy Walter as the father, I would like to know who he married as no-one seems to know the mothers name.  Also Percy Thomas was a twin and I was told his twin died at birth, however a relative told me that they went to school at Bosworth primary The Meadows together.  She seems to think Percy T was born in 1903 or 5 but that doesn't match the marriage certificate as I make it 1901
Many Thanks for your help
sarah

Hi Sarah

Have found your Percy Walter Shepherd born Oct 1876 in Nottingham

He married in July 1900 to Florence Croxford

Died March 1929

I found them on the 1901 census aged 24 and 22. They are living with a Widow Mary Madden aged 55 she is the head of the family and it states
that Percy is a son and Florence a daughter in law. Probably she had
married again?  She was born in Basson Lincolnshire.
As you mentioned Percy is a brass fitter and Mary is a Provisions shopkeeper.

There are quite a few other children called Madden but your Percy
is not on the census so Florence could have been pregnant as they did
marry the year before so might have been born in April just after the census.

Hello again, I have checked the 1911 census for both Percys and Florence and have found nothing, does this often happen?
Many Thanks
Sarah
