Where to find Edgefield Parish Records?

I wonder if anyone can tell me where to find PRs for Edgefield? couldn't find it on familysearch but noticed that there were a lot of records for Holt and wondered if they were bundled in together.

I am looking for parents for Sophia Chapman born there abt 1831. It looks as though she is with James & Abigail Peck in C1841 and I'm hoping to find the relationship.

Did she marry James Henderson in 1845 1848?  If so - the 1851 shows her birthyear as 1826

Even though the PR's are not online, the Bishop's Transcripts for Edgefield are on the Family Search site.

Oh! That's just fantastic Thank you so much. Not only is Sophia found but I got a head start into searching the BTs too.

Have to admit to allowing myself to fall into the C1841 age trap so searched back to check the date of birth, but that was the only Sophia I found. Happily I also found her parents marriage in the process which fitted in too.

Yes. She was with John & Abigail Peck in 1841, but of course it doesn't state relationships. Are you researching this family?

No connection.  I was just concerned that you were possibly researching the wrong Sophia.  If your Sophia  married Henderson in 1845   1848- she would have been 14/15 yrs old 18 yrs old at that time.

1851 census shows her birthyear as 1826
1861 - shows 1831
1871 - 1831
1891 - 1830 - living in Lancashire
Died 1898 aged 68 - 1830

William Chapman & Ann Peck only married in June 1830  and you're right - it IS uncertain, I'm going with it for now, but will get her marriage certificate when I can.

With the 1845 1848 marriage cert in mind - there is this 1841 entry for Edgefield which may be her parents.  Ages were rounded down in 1841 so William & Ann could be up to 4yrs older than shown
