Melton Mowbray marriage lookup please

Hello, can anybody help in finding the marriage of Benjamin Glover and Emma Greaves in Melton Mowbray, March 1857.  Unfortunately, I don't know the church.  Any information would be appreciated (especially groom's fathers name).  Thankyou.

FreeBMD shows Benjamin Glover & Emma Greaves on the same page in the Mar quarter of 1856 not '57.

Do you have either of them in the 1851 census or together in 1861 to narrow down the location? The Melton Mowbray registration district covers 70+ parishes.

How certain are you that Benjamin married Emma?

There is a Benjamin Glover on the 1861 census with wife Kezia, which is the other female name on the same page as Benjamin and Emma in the Mar qtr of 1856.

Hello David, thanks for your reply.  I'm pretty certain he married Emma - I've taken my info from the 1861 census where they are living in West Bromwich, reference RG09, piece 2019, folio 97, page 3. 
Sorry however, I did put the wrong year in for the marriage - it should be 1856.

Well, it looks like a second marriage for Benjamin (42) as there is a 19 yr old daughter born in London and Emma the wife is only 26.

Ben's POB is Derbyshire, Emma's Liverpool, and the two younger children, age 3 yrs & 9 mths are Birmingham so its difficult to say where they may have married.

My instinct leans towards the Ben who married in Q1 1856 in Melton Mowbray marrying Kezia Warrington, they are both from Leics and in 1861 living in Scalford which is in the Melton Mowbray district. The childrens births also appear to be registered in Leics (Barrow on Soar district & Melton Mowbray district).

You need to rule out the Ben/Kezia couple so asking for a look-up of the marriage, possibly in Barsby (Kezia's POB), Scalford where they are living, or in the Thorpe Arnold registers (Ben's POB), would hopefully settle that.

Then, if that rules out the Glover/Greaves couple the best thing would be to get the birth certificate of one of 'your' Ben's children, Alfred and Emily, to pin down the mother's maiden name and so lead to the correct marriage.

If I find anything else that looks like it fits I'll be back.

Hi and thanks again for looking.  Its definitely a marriage between a Benjamin Glover and an Emma ? that I'm looking for.  I have a connection to the eldest child Eliza from his first marriage.  So, I will persevere with the Emma link but thanks for your endeavours.
