My G Grandfather was Frank Ross born 16Th may 1881 in Newburgh Fife , Scotland.  died 1952 Edinburgh.

He was a doctor and surgeon , Family tales say he was quite a well known surgeon and may have opened a hospital in Africa ,

Any suggestions where to start looking ?

Thanks .

Any info on Frank would be great  :)

Hi Mcstrings

The Donald Fraser Hospital near Vhufuli, near Sibasa, South Africa in what used to be known as the far Northern Transvaal used to be staffed almost soley by doctors and nurses from Scotland.
Most of the surgeons were of course Edinburgh trained.

Perhaps records at the hospital today might reflect your Surgeon G Grandfather Frank Ross' service there?

Cheers
