1841 Census Look-up please
« on: Monday 22 August 11 11:55 BST (UK) »
Could a kind Rootschatter please look at the 1841 Census for Huish Episcopi, Somerset and see if there are any families with the surname "Day"?   We know that there is one family living in Huish on the 1861 Census but need to know if there were any earlier families living in the village.  Many thanks.

Hi Nooshie,

Looking at marriage records, the only DAY mariage in Huish Episcopi throughout the entire 18th century and up until civil registration began in1837 is that of this Charles in 1835.

Cheers Kris  :)

Thanks Kris, yes I know, I have the Huish marriage records and I didn't find anything, however our 3 x great Grandfather Thomas Day married in Drayton but was 'of Huish', so we hoped he was baptised there. As I don't know anyone with baptism records it has been impossible to find this out.
Thanks

Hi,

Do the Somerset and Dorset Family History Society have any records for Huish Episcopi?

Hi,
No they don't, I have looked into all available possibilities, but cannot find anything. I cannot get to Somerset records office, as I work full time and would have to get a train etc., so it seems I have come to a brick wall
Thanks
Kind regards
