CHESAM and CHIPPERFIELD Families in Essex
« on: Tuesday 23 August 11 05:52 BST (UK) »
I have been doing my husband's family tree in bits and pieces and Hannah Chipperfield was his GGrandmother.
She was the daughter of Joseph Chipperfield and Esther Chesam.
Joseph's family have been relatively easy to trace, so far, but I am having problems with Esther.
I have the name Richard as a possible for her father and Sarah Parker for her mother.
Does anybody know if these are correct and if not who the correct people may be. ???

Sorry, forgot the dates.
Esther Chesam was born about 1798 and died in May 1853 aged 55.
Her father it seems was Richard who was born about 1770 and died in April 1850.
Sarah Parker birth may be about 1775 and haven't found a death date.
Since Esther was born about 1798 on would assume a wedding date prior to this.
An awful lot of abouts here but I could not find either Richard or Sarah in the 1841 Census which would have helped.

Not long to wait Yoki. As Valda says, from next week for a small fee, you'll be able to view the Clavering parish registers which will include the timezone you're interested in.

Hi

From an index of Clavering burials the only Richard Chesam buried at St Mary and St Clement Clavering was on 24th May 1850. He was aged 43. Pre that date the only other burial of a Richard Chesham was in 1703.
Sarah Chesham burials were in
1845 aged 37
1851 aged 42
14th March 1859 aged 82 (appears to be the wife of Thomas on the 1841 census - no relationships given on this census)
