Henry BAILEY abt 1823

Hi

I'm trying to find a birth/baptism record for a Henry BAILEY born in Nottinghamshire about 1823. There is a Henry Bailey in both the 1841 and 1851 census' living with a father, James Bailey, occupation whitesmith, and wonder if this is him

Henry Bailey went on to marry an Ann Cornwall about 1856, another record I would like to find but have no idea where to look. The birth of their second child, Robert Cornwall Bailey, born in 1859 is registered in Manchester, Lancashire so the marriage may have taken place there if not in Nottinghamshire. Will put query on that forum as well

The Baileys subsequently emigrated to NZ before the 1861 census. Henry's ocupation was recorded as tool maker

Hi Robyn,

There is a Henry Bailey (on IGI) born in East Retford Notts. Christened 18 April 1821 to parents James Bailey + Martha.  How sure you of your date? 

There are other Baileys on there so maybe worth a look ... if you haven't already!

I have looked on FreeBMD for a marriage between 1840 -60 for the names you have and there is nothing.

I feel that the marriage probably was in Manchester so am exploring that avenue.

Yes did spot the James and Martha birth record. Looks promising but just need some other confirmation
