1940s hairstyles and a buncha uniforms...during the war seems like a good bet.

So definitely the second world war and not the first then, if these are 40's haircuts? :)
Also where could it be? A dance hall or during an air raid or something? :s

Er, yes...1940s = WW2 :)

I don't know where it would be, but the event looks like a dinner or dance.  There are streamers up across the ceiling.  Not an air raid I don't think.

Definitely WW2. Possibly celebrating the troops coming home event .. dinner, dance. Lots of smiles and happy faces.

PrueM - I realise that sounded a bit silly, but I just sort of wanted to clear up that before I wasn't sure which war, and not looking at a picture full of uniformed men thinking it wasn't during a war at all, Plus I have no idea what 40's haircuts look like, and was just wondering if it was definitely WW2 and those haircuts weren't around earlier :p

I wish it had something written on the back, it seems like a 'homecoming' is the best bet, but would love to know for sure! :)

No button holes so its not a wedding, with the streamers up across the room I would guess Christmas
