Marriage record request
« on: Thursday 25 August 11 12:53 BST (UK) »
I wonder if anyone can either find some details out for me, or point me in the right direction.  I am looking for details of a marriage between William Dight and Susan.  His name could be William Glanville Dight or William Granville Dight, and was probably a carpenter.  According to the censuses, their oldest child was born c1831 so I assume that the marriage may have been sometime before that.  William seems to have been born in Bradford-on-Tone c1810 and Susan was born c1806 in Bridgwater.  They seemed to live for the rest of their lives in Bridgwater, so again, I assume the marriage took place there.

Anyone have any ideas?

Roger

Thanks for the reply.  But for some reason I am unable to get that result up!  I wonder if you could take me through your search process step by step!

Hi, I put William Dight into name boxes, just choose England from drop down for country. No year or birth/marr/bur  etc options. Search.
You will get a list, scroll down to entry 36 for birth record William D about 1804 Bridgwater and when you go onto that his marriage/wife is there too.

Sometimes pays to put in less info than you think!

Hi Roger,

The entry Di is referring to is a submitted entry on the IGI.The entry has been submitted by a member of the LDS Church and these entries need to be verified. When you see entries suggesting born about .... it is a good sign that the entry is submitted with the year of birth listed using other souces (census etc)

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=igi/search_IGI.asp&clear_form=true

I have checked another source and the marriage entry provided is correct.

Cheers Kris  :)
