Nott General Cemetery MI look up
« on: Saturday 27 August 11 17:14 BST (UK) »
hi....

am wondering if someone could kindly look up Ethel Shooter, please,  buried 1904. I know she is buried in the General Cemetery,  taken from a newspaper report. Went to Nottingham today but it's a huge site and apart from having a meander, it was rather pointless due to the number of graves so came back a little disappointed.  I am wondering if someone who may have the CD of the inscriptions could kindly do a search for me?

TIA
Graham

Thank you, Nottsgirl1

That's very helpful,  at least you have located thee grave for me.  I need to revisit the place but I am wondering if they (the archives) have a plan as to where in the cemetery grave 456 is located

Hi,

Yes Nottingham Archives have big plans of the graves in the cemetery but they are very big and not be able to copy but will give you an idea where the grave is.

Well,  I emailed the archives but they won't undertake a search without a fee.

I am wondering therefore if someone is paying another visit shortly whether you would be able to have a look on my behalf.  There are 3 plans apparently that cover the General Cemetery

CA/GC/7/5R/2, 7/6R/2 and 7/7R/2

Could someone please check the plans for the location details of plot 456 for me. I really would appreciate it.

TIA
Graham
