Help with uniform

Hi,

Please can anybody help identify the uniform worn in this photograph.  It is suppose to be a picture of my GGGGrandfather who was in the Navy but my mum and I now think it may be an army uniform from the Boer war.

Any help will be gratefully received.

You might do better putting this on the Armed Forces board Louise - or you could ask one of the Mods to do it for you.

I've put it on the Armed Forces board.  Hopefully somebody will recognise it.
