When Bridget married her first husband his name was down as John Henry Colwell

BUT

On his baptism (change of religion) he is down as Henry John Colwell son of George Colwell & Harriet Knight

I'm pretty sure that he is English and that this is his baptism !

Looking at the English Census

He is with his parent's 1861, 1871, so far so good.

1881 he is NOT with his parent's ~ he married Bridget in 1878.

So, where was he in the surrounding years.

HUM there is a 1901 English Census which looks like him, as a boarder, back in his home parish !

I have been looking into Geoffrey and Mary Anne, and like you can find nothing for either! My dad always said he believed there was a Cork connection but was unsure how.

I'm confused by the Prison record, as Mary Anne married Geoffrey in 1878, but according to the Prison record she's going by her maiden name.

Oh wow! We always believed that he died, as on Frederick Bushell's army papers it says she's a widow!
