Hi All,
I am a newby and I am trying to get information regarding the issue of a ROYAL VICTORIAN MEDAL (Silver) to Herbert Victor Roper Royal Marines I have a letter dating 1934 but I cannot get any evidence of the issue to him etc etc
Any help appreciated

i can see he was awarded the victory and british war medal,,,he was a musician,,,and was discharged to pension,,,,cant see anything as  yet about the victorian silver medal,,,will have a look around  ;)

I have the Buck.Palace issue letter dated 22nd August 1934 but just cannot find anything out about it....very frustrated

Hi,
Have you tried National Archives Documents Online ? He appears to be on the Registers of Royal Marines , same number , born 18 Nov 1894.
You can download his basic record for £3.50 , which very often includes medals etc.

I have his ORIGINAL documents to hand, I cannot find reference to the Royal Victorian Medal Issue, he served on the royal yacht a few times  (Victoria & Albert) but further records of the RVM issue is  proving difficult........aarrgghh!!
