Andrew Todd b 1783 Merns

Hi all, trying to find out any info on my 4 x great grand Father Andrew Todd. he was born in madenside , Mearns<Renfewshire in 1783 he married Christian Cockran in 1808 in Mearns.  There son also David was to be my 3x great grand father b1826.

My first name was given to me due to our Scottish background, it would be nice to know a little more.

Just a wee note, maybe a misspelling in the transcription or it may have changed over the years but the name in the Newton Mearns area nowadays is Malletsheugh

You mentioned that Andrew was born 1783. Though not the most reliable record the 1841 census was rounded down to the nearest 5 indicating he was born 1792 to 1796, either way I cannot find a baptism for him.
It looks like Andrew and Christian both died before 1855, when statutory registration began, sadly there are no death records on SP at Mearns prior to 1855.
