.fdb files - how to open, please Completed, with thanks.

Hallo Folks,

can anyone give me an idea of how to open a(n) .fdp  mean .fdb file please?

We have a programme where the address book is in this format and I would like to open it and print out the e-mail addresses to keep.

I have had a good look around the internet, have found out that it could be a registry problem, have downloaded Uniblue Registry Boost (some people will probably now say: How on earth could you do that!

It found numerable registry problems - it corrected about 25 and then I need to register and buy the programme to correct the rest  Is it worth buying  Or is there another way of opening this file.

Do you mean .fdb or .fdp?

I would uninstall the registry cleaner if I were you, Ccleaner is a good free program for fixing registry problems.

Could you open the file before or has the problem just started?

Stu - the file is fdb.  Sorry, just noticed I wrote it wrong in my post - right in the title of post 

And I have just started to try and open the file .

Ray:  "The programme" is a German E-mail programme where the address book is in this format.

P.S.  I uninstalled the registry cleaner and installed Ccleaner (remembered that my brother  told me that it was good) and still cannot open the file.

There are some free downloads out there to convert the file, this is just one of them.

not knowing the email application but with MS express you can usually export the address book from within the email application
File> export>address book > export as a text file ( .csv) save in a suitable location and then open with excel

You might want to try that route rather than try to open the fbd file.

You can also import the .csv file to another pc.
