Mary Ann Cook Census Lookup Help
« on: Wednesday 07 September 11 11:16 BST (UK) »
Hi All,

I've found a Mary Ann Cook my ancestor on the 1861 Census but I'm unable to find her on the 1851 & 1841 Census records as she appears to have vanished.

Her details are Mary Ann Cook Born c1840 Luddington, Lincolnshire, England

On the 1861 census RG9/3266/44/36/190 her occupation is a Domestic Servant to the WINN family of Bradford Road, Huddersfield, Yorkshire.

Thanks in advance

Regards
Akira

Hi
There's a Mary Cook bn 1840 living in Luddington in 1841 census.
I'm not sure if this is your Mary?
Ages were rounded off in this cenus.
William 50 Ferryman, Mary 45 George 15 Frederick 14 Elizabeth 9 Harriot 5, Mary 1
Looks like Garth??? Shore, sorry can't read it.

Hi KGarrad

Thanks for your reply, wow this explains why she was hiding  :-[ I wonder what happened to his wife, This is all very interesting this would explain why she's by herself in 1861.

Is that Barton Stather or Slather?

Regards
Akira

Hi KGarrad & Tinam

Thank you very much for your time and help, I had a look on google maps and all the towns mentioned are within 10 - 15 miles of each other.
