Tracing Uncle died New York on ship 1966
« on: Wednesday 07 September 11 18:36 BST (UK) »
Hi, I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have any info on someone who died on board ship in New York in 1966.  My Uncle Gerard Menzies worked on Ocean Monarch as Steward, he died aboard ship on April 1st 1966 at Pier 93?.  I have a death entry in Scotland but can find no trace of burial etc.  Is it possible he may have been buried in USA.  If anyone has knowledge of what would probably have happened or have access to info I would so appreciate it.
Thanks

Cannot help you with burials in New York but there may be a clue in his Merchant Navy records. Could you give us his date and place of birth?
A long shot. It may be worth while contacting this site to see if anyone knew your uncle personally.
