I would be most grateful if anyone could date the attached. I would be delighted if they could identify the lady but any suggestions to her age etc welcome.

To start you off, the name above the door says William Allman.

In 1911 there was an Inn Keeper by this name in North Frodingham, living with his wife Kate. Fingers crossed the dates fit !

I hadn't spotted the name above door!

I was hoping for the name Ann Cockerill who ran the pub from mid 1800s till 1901 census at least. Then no record of her in 1911 census tho' she died 1915 aged 92 yrs.

I guess new owners took over and the picture is of them in their new home.

If it was Kate/Catherine it might have been as early as 1907. If I'm on the right track - they claimed they'd only been married for four years on the census.

In 1901 William was a Blacksmith/Innkeeper living with Kate in Foston - they were at that time unmarried.

What a shame !
