cant make out mothers name

He is trying to find out the maiden surname of the mother of the bride

Have you tried Hines with looking for the marriage?

Just a thought - have you looked at the bride's birth cert if that's possible.    I'm guessing these are Scottish records and the birth cert should give the date and place of the parents marriage.    It might be in Ireland, for instance, which is why you can't find it.
