Carrickmacross - Courtney and Murray

Could anyone assist in finding anything for me with regard to this marriage. I seem to be hitting a brick wall and short of going over to Ireland , I'm stuck. Patrick Courtney and Mary Murray were married approx 1863 and had 6 children , including Hugh Courtney ( my G G Grandfather ) who came over to Edinburgh approx 1900.

What denomination were your Courtney and Murray families ?

If they were RC then it might be worth keeping an eye on the IrishGenealogy (free) website as they plan to add RC records for the county soon.

If the marriage was non-Catholic there should be a civil record.

hi Shane , thank you for the advice...........I have already checked both RC and civil records but no luck........all I have is Hugh's marriage cert that shows the names of his parents and the fact that they are both deceased by his wedding in 1905.
